The Championships attract bands from Cleveland, Cumbria, Durham, East riding of Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire,(formally Humberside), North Yorkshire, Northumberland, and Tyne and Wear.

Each band will compete in their respective graded section for the honour of representing the North of England, at the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain. The Championship Section competes in The Royal Albert Hall, London, whilst the other sections currently compete in The Centaur, Cheltenham.

Brass Bands in the North of England are an integral part of our social culture. The regional Committee are committed to developing and the professional organising our event. Maintaining our heritage, but through innovation and creativity, we are committed to developing our event to raise musical standards and participation.
